I love war movies, and im always looking for a good war movies, which has good action and a good story line too. Ive seen Platoon and Full Metal Jacket, and i loved em.
Ive also seen a few more as such as Black Hawk Down, Blood Diamonds, Kingdom Of Heaven, Braveheart, Thin Red Line, etc, and they were not bad.
Are there any more good war movies out there, based on modern warfare or medieval?
Or even any good foreign war movies?

There seems to be a disturbing lack of quality feature films on the Soviet-Afghan campaign. Charlie Wilson's War was excellent IMO, I really like it but it was cornball stuff. 10/10 on casting.
Anything else worth seeking in that arena?
Zulu.
It still remains my favourite war movie of all time.
Also The Great Escape is an all time classic, though not much action until the end.
A Bridge Too Far, The Battle of Britain are good war films too.
For knockabout fun stuff you will find things like Kelly's Heroes and Where Eagles Dare are hard to beat when it comes to entertainment.
I'd rather watch Kelly's Heroes repeatedly than Saving Private Ryan. The characters are fantastic and the dialogue is super. Quotable lines almost everywhere.
