He did a good job and I'd be happy with him back, but he recently made it sound like he wanted to at least take a break and likely won't do Bond 24. Personally, I'd love to see Steven Spielberg finally do a Bond film. He was going to direct one before Lucas presented his own version of James Bond - Indiana Jones. Maybe having Mendes do Skyfall will start a trend of high-profile directors to the series.
More realistically I would like to see Duncan Jones (Moon, Source Code) or Philip Noyce (Patriot Games, Salt). Both are good at staging action sequences and developing dramatic story lines. They could be ideal for the next two films. Mostly I'm just hoping for back-to-back really good films in this series again, regardless of the director's name.
Well his Direction was good, whatever flaws were due to poor writing so I don't blame Mendes.
