Did Loki kill Odin at the end? Or perhaps imprisoned his own father?
I doubt that he killed him. I can't possibly see 616 Loki taking on the Allfather with all of his Odinforce, let alone the vastly weaker MCU version. Plus, I'm pretty sure Thor would know if Odin died, unless the Odinforce isn't a thing in the MCU.
Imprisoning him wouldn't be any easier, but if Odin was weakened by grief and the Odinsleep it's at least possible.
What I don't buy is the idea that Loki was tricking Thor and nothing is wrong with Odin at all. Loki was holding Gungnir at the end, even after he dropped the Odin disguise. No way did he just happen to come across it, nor would it make sense for him to hold the illusion of it when he was alone.
In any case, I really want to know what's going on with that ending.
I would've accepted the death of Loki, but I guess the fanbase wanted him alive, and that whole illusion of him disguising as Odin was sheer confusion to me. But oh well.
One of my other theories is that Odin disguised as Loki to go to the Dark World with Thor, and when Loki died from Kurse, it was actually Odin in illusion, and the real Loki was left behind at Asgard. Though that's still confusing, so I don't really know how to pin point all the plot holes.
Loki dying is super easy to get around and out of if they wanted. It's not like death would stop him from coming back, not when he's got Hel for a daughter. It'd just be a stupid way to die unless that was all part of the plan. Bad enough that Frigga got taken out so easily, but Loki, too?
Then again on the whole Hel/Niflheim thing, it's hard to say if Loki's got any kids in the MCU version. We've seen Sleipnir, but I don't think Disney's going to out that Loki's the mother any time soon.
