I wonder if people would have preferred if the battle scene between the Volutri and the Vamps/werewolves would have been real instead of a vision since I found that part to be the best moment of the film since I don't remember Alice's vision being described in the book.
I actually like what they did. They did a great job accomodating both those who loved the book ending and those who bitched about it being anti-climatic. They put in a battle, while staying true to the story line itself, by keeping it as Alice's vision that we are only slightly aware of in the book
I think it would have been better had it really happened. There were NO consequences for Bella. Ever. I think having the battle scene be real would have brought more "realism" (for lack of better word) to the movie.
When I saw it previews, I was really confused since I know there wasn't a battle at the end and I vaguely remembered Alice's vision, so I liked it. The moment we saw Carlisle's head I did think it was fake, and then was confused as much as when I saw Inception, and by the time Jasper died I was like "okay, this isn't real". But it wouldn't be the first time someone had taken creative license with an adaptation of a book.
