Why does Emily behave as if she's being watched after she kills her husband? There was no need for her to stay in character. I found this to be a big cheat given the logic of the film's ruse.

Well, we did see her screaming and crying while calling the police later on so I think the scene with her going back to sleep after killing her husband actually never happened. But that's just my theory.
